Backstory
Iman Oquinn is a documentary landscape photographer who holds a BS in Biology and is pursuing an MFA in Photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. Oquinn is guided by her passion to educate people on subjects that often remain unseen; in this spirit, she embraces the power of narrative to reveal the story and importance of natural ecological spaces. She is influenced by her family history, local landscapes, and the relationship between humans and nature.

Her professional influences include Eugène Atget, Rachael Talibart, and Camille Seaman. She strongly believes that stories bring people together. Sharing the stories of local landscapes helps us understand ourselves and how we are intertwined with the natural world.
